Emily E. Caracciolo

Emily E. Caracciolo is from Berlin, New Jersey. She graduated from Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey, and applied to West Virginia University (WVU). She was a double major in  Political Science and Criminology. Emily served as a Senator-At-Large in WVU’s Student Government Association, actively participated with Delta Gamma Sorority, and led multiple political organizations. She is a former intern with West Virginia Agricultural Commissioner Kent Leonhardt, 2021 New Jersey Gubernatorial Candidate Jack Ciattarelli, and U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito. Upon graduation in May of 2022, she planned to return to the United States Capitol to intern for Congressman David B. McKinley. Her aspirations include attending law school and having a career dedicated to public service.

As a first-generation college student with a learning disability, the West Virginia University TRIO Student Support Services program was instrumental in her academic success. The program offered her academic advising, career mentorship, and tutoring, which were vital to her success. Being an out-of-state college student, Emily considered the staff and students at WVU SSS part of her family. The program has been essential for her and other low-income, first-generation, and non-traditional students.
